Project Summary
Buffalo River Dene Nation is located approximately 550 kilometres north of Saskatoon. When the community mandated Chief and Council to build a new Head Start daycare facility, they approached 3twenty to deliver a design-build solution. The leadership team understood that a traditional site-build approach would not meet their timeline. Because of this, 3twenty offered an alternative that aligned with the project schedule.
Our design team met with Councillors and consulted closely with Head Start staff. Together, we developed a plan that met the needs of Buffalo River Dene Nation while staying within budget. The community was familiar with the concept of an RTM home and wanted to understand how a prefabricated approach would compare. Chief and Council responded positively to the building’s steel floor structure and the high-quality commercial materials used throughout. The design also included an extensive millwork package. As a result, Head Start staff were able to open the facility shortly after delivery and installation.
