Project Summary

The Canadian Light Source (CLS), located at the University of Saskatchewan, is a world-class research facility. The centre advances Canadian science, strengthens industry competitiveness, and contributes to quality of life around the world. As CLS continued to grow, the organization required additional space to support staff and researchers.

In response, 3twenty Modular submitted a proposal through a public tender process. The team designed, built, and installed a modular office building to support the CLS expansion. A strong design, cost-effective solution, and accelerated delivery schedule set the proposal apart. As a result, Canadian Light Source selected 3twenty Modular as the successful proponent.

Large windows throughout the building to bring in lots of natural light.

Special attention to exterior design to ensure seamless integration with existing building.

Corridor connecting to main building sits on top of a major utility corridor; consequently, the 70’ hallway needed to be self-supporting between the two ends, and easily disconnected and removed in the event of a utility issue.
