3twenty gave the Headstart a fresh, colourful, and fun look when the community needed to rebuild after a devastating fire.

Project Summary

On December 2nd, 2019 when a devastating fire took down the Cumberland House Cree Nation Band Office, the Headstart facility went with it. When Chief and Council promised the community they would rebuild, the Headstart was part of that promise. By collaborating with the Headstart executive director, 3twenty was able to bring a design to life that met the needs of her programming in a beautiful and welcoming new space.

It was decided that the new Headstart daycare would stand alone, as a 4,831 square foot space. The facility houses infant, toddler, and preschool aged youth. The build also features an integrated kitchen to serve meals to the kids. The space is filled with fun, but soft colours that provide a welcoming and comforting feel. This unique build was specially designed to meet the requirements of child care, providing a space for current and future members of the community to learn and grow.
