Partnering with Threeosix Industrial, 3twenty constructed and delivered a complementary Administrative Building with unique needs offsite in Saskatoon while a new water treatment plant was constructed on site in British Columbia.

Project Summary

As part of its ongoing work under the Elk Valley Water Quality Plan, Teck Coal began construction on a new water treatment facility at Fording River Operations in 2020. The facility removes selenium and nitrate from mine-affected water. In doing so, it helps protect the health of the watershed and supports sustainable mining in the region.

With the new plant in place, Teck Coal required an administrative building to support daily operations. Working with Threeosix Industrial, 3twenty designed and constructed a 6,103-square-foot facility. The building includes multiple office spaces, a large conference room, and a control room. It also features male and female wash and change rooms, a spacious lunchroom with a kitchenette, and two laboratory rooms.

Each lab includes fume hoods, emergency showers, lab sinks, and acid-resistant millwork. The team designed the administrative building to align visually and technically with the water treatment plant. At the same time, crews constructed the building in 3twenty’s yard and later shipped it to the site for installation.
