Teck Coal Administrative BuildingElkford, BC
Explore ProjectPartnering with Threeosix Industrial, 3twenty constructed and delivered a complementary Administrative Building with unique needs offsite in Saskatoon while a new water treatment plant was constructed on site in British Columbia.
Project Summary
As part of their ongoing work under the Elk Valley Water Quality Plan, Teck Coal began construction of a new water treatment facility at Fording River Operations in 2020. The facility’s purpose was to remove selenium and nitrate from mine-affected water to maintain the health of the watershed and allow for continued sustainable mining in the region.
With the new plant, Teck Coal needed an Administrative Building for its operations. Working with Threeosix Industrial, 3twenty provided the design and construction of a 6,103-square-foot facility with all the necessary amenities including multiple office spaces, a large conference room, a control room, male and female wash/change rooms, a spacious lunchroom with a kitchenette, and two lab rooms fit with fume hoods, emergency showers, lab sinks, and acid resistant millwork. The Administrative Building was designed to fit with the water treatment plant from a visual and technical perspective, was constructed simultaneously in 3twenty’s yard, and then shipped to site for install.
