Benefits
The information below outlines general best practices related to the plan; however, it does not include specific details of the benefits plan. Please refer to the group benefits booklet on Collage for all plan details. In the event of any discrepancy between this information and the benefits booklet, the booklet will apply.
Eligibility
3twenty employees will be eligible to participate in our Saskatchewan Blue Cross benefits plan following three (3) months of active permanent employment and subject to the terms of the plan. All permanent full-time employees who have completed their probationary period are required to participate in the Group Benefits plan.
Employees will be prompted to enroll in the benefits plan during the onboarding process via Collage. Once the employee has completed their probationary period, they should receive their benefits card in the mail and can activate their account online. Please connect with the People Strategy Lead if you have any questions regarding enrolling in benefits.
Health and Dental benefits can be waived if the employee’s spouse has a benefits plan that covers the employee. Employees who waive coverage are only eligible to rejoin the plan without medical evidence if their spouses lose coverage, and they must rejoin within 31 days. If you wish to waive your Health and Dental benefits, please contact the People Strategy Lead before doing so.
Premium Breakdown
The following chart summarizes the benefits that are employee-paid (EE) and employer-paid (ER). Employee payments are deducted from each paycheque.
| Benefit | Premium |
| Member Life | EE Paid |
| Dependent Life | EE Paid |
| Member Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) | EE Paid |
| Short-term Disability | EE Paid |
| Long-term Disability | EE Paid |
| Health | ER Paid |
| Dental | ER Paid |
| Second Opinion | ER Paid |
This premium breakdown is very intentional. Since employees pay these premiums, in the event of a short-term or long-term disability claim, the benefits will be non-taxable.
Benefits while on Disability Leave
If you become disabled and qualify to receive disability insurance benefits (either through our group benefits plan or another disability benefits source), 3twenty will continue to pay the same portion of your monthly insurance premiums as we did prior to your disability. The continuation of premium contributions will be provided for up to twelve months following the date you become eligible for disability benefits or until your return to work, whichever comes first.
Employees are required to sign a pre-authorized debit (PAD) agreement, linked here. This agreement authorizes 3twenty to withdraw the employee’s share of benefit premiums directly from your bank account. The amount deducted will match the portion of the monthly premiums you paid before becoming disabled. The withdrawal will be scheduled for the first day of each month. If a scheduled withdrawal is unsuccessful, 3twenty reserves the right to terminate your benefits coverage immediately.
After twelve months, your health and dental benefits will terminate. Coverage for all benefits that qualify for a Waiver of Premium (e.g., Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance) will continue without the required insurance premiums until you return to work or until you no longer qualify to collect disability insurance benefits.
