The Department of National Defence issued a public tender looking for a company to supply a 180-person accommodation complex within two months. 3twenty took it on.

Project Summary

Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake, also known as 4 Wing Cold Lake, is the busiest fighter base in Canada. The base supports general-purpose, multi-role, combat-capable forces for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s domestic and international operations. Each year, 4 Wing Cold Lake hosts Maple Flag, an international air combat exercise. The event attracts hundreds of participants and visitors. As a result, the base faced challenges accommodating and housing everyone on site.

To address this need, Defence Construction Canada issued a tender for a new facility. The project required housing for as many as 180 beds within a defined budget. In response, 3twenty submitted an innovative modular design. This approach provided a competitive edge and positioned the team as the successful proponent for the project.
