Sask Rivers School Division saw an opportunity to attach a daycare facility to Arthur Pechey school, and once again partnered with 3twenty to deliver the project.

Project Summary

Sask Rivers School Division (SRSD) partnered with Blooms and Buds Child Care Centre to build a new facility in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The project adds 46 licensed child care spaces to the community. 3twenty has a long-standing relationship with the school division. Previously, the team helped double the size of Arthur Pechey School using relocatable classrooms. Because of this experience, SRSD engaged 3twenty to design and build the new child care facility, which connects directly to the school.

The new facility consists of two modular units, each measuring 91 feet in length. A connecting corridor links the addition to the existing school. Inside, the layout includes two separate areas designed for preschool-aged children and toddlers. Each space features built-in cubbies, a boot room, bathroom facilities, and generous play areas. In addition, the facility includes a shared kitchen space. From start to finish, the Blooms and Buds project was delivered in under four months.

Interior and exterior architectural finishes were selected to compliment and match the existing school design and recent expansion.

Special consideration for fire ratings throughout, including a two-hour fire rated wall assembly between infant areas and other space.

Design, supply and install of all millwork to create a turnkey space for the childcare operators.
